On August 10, 2016, Diplo posted on his Snapchat that he was working with Ariana on another melody. after 12 days, a fan met Diplo at the air terminal and solicited him what the name from the tune they dealt with was called and he reacted: "In Your Hands". A couple of days after the fact, Ariana Grande discharged a little scrap of her and Diplo in the studio together.

On April 26, 2018, a fan tweeted: "I can deal with you discharging in your grasp or collabing with pabllo once more" to which Diplo answered "O child it's coming".

On September 11, 2018, a short scrap of the tune was spilled by Music Mafia. On October 20, 2018, another short piece was spilled by @sweetenerloves on Twitter. The following day another bit spilled by @granderuled on Twitter. On October 21, 2018, the melody spilled in full
